Work Preparation
MN Workforce Center System: MVAC county offices are partners in the Minnesota WorkForce Center System. Job and career information is available through books, Internet access and videos. Training opportunities and other area resources are on hand. Case management services and job seeking skills are available through WIA (the WorkForce Investment Act).
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment Training (SNAP): SNAP helps people receiving food stamps get a job. The program will help develop a plan for getting a job. It also will provide information on how to look for work and how to interview. SNAP is available at MVAC offices in Brown, Le Sueur, Nicollet, Sibley and Waseca counties.
MN Family Investment Program (MFIP)/Diversionary Work Program (DWP) Employment Services: Participants receive employment services through MVAC. Services include identifying skills; developing plans for job search and employment; classes on pursuing and retaining jobs; job leads, support services and guidance for job retention. MVAC provides this service in Brown, Le Sueur, Nicollet, Sibley, and Waseca counties.
Family Assets for Independence (FAIM): Family Assets for Independence in MN is a long-term savings plan that helps people buy a home, pursue higher education, or begin a micro-business. Earned income that is deposited into a special savings account will be matched at a 3:1 ratio by public and private sources. Available in all nine counties.
Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP): The Senior Employment Program (SCSEP) offers opportunities to people age 55 and over to gain work skills through paid work experience. Participants work up to 17 hours per week at schools, museums, day care centers, and hospitals, to name a few.
The program is designed to provide job training and support with the goal of moving to a job in the regular labor market.

Requirements
- At least 55 years of age
- Resident of Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Martin, Nicollet, or Watonwan County Income Eligible
