To qualify for tax preparation assistance, income eligibility is $36,000 or less for single filers and $60,600 or less for married filers.

Tax clinics will be on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons, starting date TBA

  • Wednesday 5:30pm-9pm
  • Saturday 12pm-4pm

During the tax clinics, only Current Year returns can be completed (2019). Assistance on prior year returns (only 2018 or 2017) can be done during the week.

Applications are now available for the Energy Assistance Program that runs from September 2019 through May 2020. The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps low income households pay a portion of their heating and electric bills. This program is available to both individuals and families who are income eligible. Homeless Programs Coordinator

Coordinate, manage and implement homeless assistance programs. Provide case management to program clients. Participate in Continuum of Care meetings and work with local partners.
Bilingual helpful. Four year degree in social services or business related filed required. Experience in human services and case management preferred.
40 hrs./wk. $21.64/hr. Plus health ins. is offered, benefits include pd. holidays & vac.

Initial point of contact at MVAC Mankato office for homeless prevention programs. Take applications, determine program eligibility, assist homeless with housing, provide information & referral, clerical support.
Bilingual helpful. Office exp. & education in office procedures preferred.

Head Start Position in St James:

Head Start Support Aide – St. James

Assist with classroom operation including-planning and implementation of activities, maintaining classroom environment, supervising children and required record keeping. Assist with addressing challenging behaviors and implementing intervention strategies, teaching children new social and communication skills. Bilingual beneficial. Prefer previous work or volunteer experience with pre-school age children and/or Early Childhood degree. 32.5 hours/week. $10.93 per hour non degreed and $11.62 per hour with degree.
