Head Start Health and Safety Advisor – Mankato, MN

Responsibilities include:

Based in Mankato this position is responsible to oversee the delivery of health program services that are culturally and developmentally appropriate to enrolled Head Start pregnant women, children ages birth to 5 years old and their families. These services will include ensuring completion, treatment and follow up of all child program health requirements, including oral health, and overall child, facility, and staff safety.  Train program staff on health and safety policies and procedures and health services requirements according to MN DHS Rule 3 Licensing and Head Start Performance Standards.  Establish and maintain a Health Services Advisory Committee that includes Head Start parents, professionals, and other volunteers from the community.  Develop and maintain professional working relationships with families, partners, co-workers, and other community service providers. Applicant must have a Bachelor or Master’s related degree in a health services field or community health.  Minimum of 2 years experience in one of the above degree areas and knowledge of dental & pediatric health is preferred.   This position requires strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.  Technical writing skills and experience with varied adult training styles is desirable. Bi-lingual beneficial.  40 hours/week. $23.07/hour.
